Watch LIVE as Rocket Lab launches the 87th Electron rocket carrying 9 payloads to Sun-Synchronous Orbit from LC-1, Mahia Peninsula, New Zealand. WASEDA-SAT-ZERO-II WASEDA-SAT-ZERO-II is a technology demonstrator for 3D-printed satellites. It will be used to run experiments on deploying membrane surfaces. FSI-SAT2 FSI-SAT is a 1U CubeSat developed by the Future Science Institute. It is a low-cost satellite equipped with a multispectral camera and an onboard data-processing system, designed to show that these capabilities can be deployed and operated at small scale and low cost. OrigamiSat-2 OrigamiSat-2 aims to demonstrate an on-orbit high-gain antenna for small satellites. The antenna surface uses an ultra-low-rigidity membrane, and by deliberately avoiding strict flatness requirements, the design reduces mass and stowage volume to achieve a large deployed area. Mono-Nikko Mono-Nikko will demonstrate an intelligent power-supply unit in orbit. The unit will collect battery status data from batteries installed on a microsatellite and rapidly detect battery degradation and anomalies while on orbit. ARICA-2 ARICA-2 will demonstrate a real-time alert system for sudden astronomical events such as gamma-ray bursts. PRELUDE PRELUDE will measure VLF-band signals influenced by ionospheric fluctuations, which are considered a promising precursor to earthquakes. The satellite also carries a GNSS receiver to estimate total electron content in the ionosphere and observe electron-density increases associated with these fluctuations. MAGNARO-II MAGNARO comprises two small satellites developed by Nagoya University to demonstrate formation-flying techniques. The mission launches as a 3U CubeSat that separates into two spacecraft after deployment: one 2U and one 1U. After separation, the pair will maintain formation at separations ranging from 2 km to 500 km. KOSEN-2R KOSEN-2R features a deployable, Yagi-style directional antenna that extends after deployment. It is designed to study deformation of the Earths crust beneath the seafloor. #RocketLab #Electron Join our community Discord! https://discord.com/invite/xCm9UpDPE4 This coverage is made possible by our amazing community!
