WEEK THREE: PRESERVE | The 5 P’s of Pantry Peace Workshop Welcome to Week Three of the Pantry Peace Workshop, where we step into the heart of stewardship: learning how to preserve what God has already placed in our homes. Today, we dive deeply into the methods, meaning, and ministry of food preservation—from canning to dehydrating, freezing, and freeze-drying—and how these skills help us build long-term peace, stability, and security for our families. In this teaching, we walk through: • The spiritual significance of preserving what God provides • Why preservation is not old-fashioned—it is biblical stewardship • Water bath vs. pressure canning (safety, acidity, and when to use each) • Dehydrating and how it extends the life of your pantry • Freeze-drying and long-term storage options • Freezer banking to build peace into your everyday routines • How preservation builds confidence, reduces waste, and stretches your budget • How your pantry becomes a testimony of God’s faithfulness • Why preserving food also teaches us to preserve peace, gratitude, hope, and emotional resilience Scripture reminds us that planning, preserving, and preparing are not rooted in fear—they’re rooted in stewardship, wisdom, and obedience. Today, we learn how to store food safely, intentionally, and prayerfully so that our families can lean on a working pantry that is always ready, no matter the season. And we will do this while canning Pear Jam and Wild Concord Grape Jame....44 jars of jam in all, ready to head into the pantry for the winter season. What a blessing!
