On March 23, 2019, I officially decided to stop fighting my natural texture and start my curly hair journey. In this video I’m sharing what that first week looked like for me—what I noticed changing fast, what surprised me, and why I’m choosing to embrace my curls instead of constantly trying to make my hair do something it doesn’t want to do. Even in just one week, I could tell my hair was already responding differently, and it honestly motivated me to keep going. I also wanted this to feel like a real-life check-in, not a perfect “curly girl” highlight reel. I’m a busy mom of two and a student, so I’m learning as I go and paying attention to what my hair needs day by day.
