Louis Gifford calls it 'the shopping basket approach' where we have multiple things to address for a patient. Yet a common obstacle for therapists is how do I communicate this to the patient. The answer is always in the INITIAL ASSESSMENT! A big part of the Initial Assessment is SETTING EXPECTATIONS! How do you do this? It all starts with you! You must have the confidence to make sense of the patients symptoms... Explain the problem, solution and plan to the patient which then in turn sets the expectations in the first session... And then had the skills and knowledge to get results and bridge the gap from low to high level rehab. If you'd like some help putting together a structured step by step system into your clinical approach so you can have the confidence to keep any complex patient progressing just DM me the word 'Mentor' and I'll send you through all the information. #Physio #physiotherapist #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #sportsphysio #sportsphysiotherapy
