In this climbing tutorial we look at a variety of methods for setting up an anchor system specifically for a guide plate. We explore a couple of simple and robust methods for creating the 'power point' loop, using a single rope and also for double ropes. There is an infinite variety of ways of creating a suitable anchor system, but we focus on a couple of methods which can be applied to most situations. Check out our accompanying video which explains how to assemble and use the guide plate and ropes, as well as how to lower a climber whilst belaying in guide mode.
