In this video I finally did the thing we all argue about in the yarn aisle: I put the most popular plushie yarns head-to-head and crocheted them up with the same pattern so it’s actually a fair fight. I’m looking at the stuff that matters for plushies and amigurumi—size/thickness (because “same weight” is a lie), softness, stitch definition, how easy it is to work with, and whether it feels like it’ll survive real life (aka hugs, squishes, and being tossed in a market bag). Some of these yarns surprised me in a good way… and some were giving “cute online, chaotic in my hands.” I also talk through what these differences mean if you’re selling plushies: consistency between skeins, how clean your shaping looks, and what yarns are worth paying extra for versus what’s just hype. By the end I give my final ranking and an overall winner based on the full combo of softness + usability + finished plushie quality.
