OUR KIDS WERE SURPRISED IN THE OCEAN!! Bucket List Adventure in Hawaii with Octopus and Surfing!

This week was one of those chapters in life we’ll never forget. 🧡 We had the most beautiful surprise when our dear friend Malau — our safari guide and soul brother from Tanzania — showed up in Hawaii to visit us. It’s hard to describe the feeling of seeing him again, but we were overwhelmed with love and gratitude. Watching him meet the kids' classmates, teach them about growing up Maasai, and then seeing him boogie board at the beach (and try to swim 😅) was just... incredible. But that wasn’t all. Each of our kids stepped up in their own way and reminded us why we love this life. Cali asked to run a 5K. (Yes, our little Cali!) We’re not a running family, but we rallied together, made it fun, and ended with Boba and full hearts. Manilla dove headfirst into his new love: breakdancing! He’s been learning and practicing every day, and we got to watch him perform in front of a crowd — so proud of that kid and how fearless he is with new passions. And Dorothy — our strong, determined, ocean-loving girl — entered her very first surf competition. We’ve always tried to protect the purity of our love for surfing, but Dorothy showed us how brave and ready she was to push herself. Her joy out there on the waves (and maybe a backflip off her board 😄) was everything. We’re so proud of our children. They inspire us to live bigger, love deeper, and always say yes to new adventures. Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re so lucky to have this community with us through it all.
