How to Paint a Galaxy with Watercolor Timelapse

Thanks for watching my How to Paint a Galaxy with Watercolor timelapse video. In this video, I'm demonstrating how I painted a watercolour galaxy effect night sky painting using mostly watercolor paints and a bit of black acrylic paint. Firstly, I painted the background of the watercolour galaxy using a wet in wet technique using dark grey, blue, purple, pink and plenty of water. I played around with this for a while by randomly applying the watercolor paints and plenty of water until I was happy that the result resembled a galaxy effect. If you are going to try a paint this watercolour galaxy then expect it to look different from mine as no two watercolor galaxy painting can look the same. Once this was dry, you can see that I'm painting stars by hand one by one. There are other 'how to paint stars' demonstrations and 'how to paint a galaxy with watercolor' videos using a splattering technique with either a paint brush or a toothbrush to apply the stars and this is also a good technique to use but I wanted to try and place the stars myself as there is more control. A watercolor galaxy painting on it's own looks a bit boring so I added a London Skyline silhouette to finish the painting off. The first layer was black watercolor paints but it dried with a matt look and didn't look right so I went over it with a bit of black acrylic paint mixed with a gel medium to give it a shine and make it look very black and stand out against the night sky painting. I then added a little glow all around the skyline silhouette using a very watered down white watercolor paint. I really hope you enjoyed watching my 'How to Paint a Galaxy with Watercolor' video.
