Our Pacific Ocean crossing continues as we explore Fiji while waiting for cyclones to pass and favorable weather windows to open for the next leg of our journey across the South Pacific. After spending time anchored in some of Fiji’s most remote islands, it’s time to restock fresh provisions, pick up critical boat parts, and collect a special delivery waiting for us at the airport from our friends at Mantus Marine. This week we arrive at Port Denarau Marina in Nadi — the closest marina to Fiji International Airport — where we navigate tricky customs procedures, explore a wild local market, and prepare for our return to remote anchorages. Before heading back out, we’re greeted by resident reef sharks right off the swim step, making for one unforgettable stop during our Pacific passage.
