This week’s adventure is one of the most exciting milestones in our cruising journey. As we passed under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and entered New York Harbor, a huge feeling of accomplishment hit us—especially as we dropped anchor right beside the Statue of Liberty. Sharing a picnic on the bow with the Manhattan skyline and Lady Liberty in the background was nothing short of surreal. Our home base for this visit was the incredible Brooklyn Bridge Marina, where we stayed for three nights. With direct access to walking and bike paths over the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan was just 15 minutes away by bike (or 30 minutes on foot).
