How to Propagate A String of Hearts - Here are three easy ways to propagate your Chain/String of Hearts. (aka, Rosary Vines, Sweetheart Vines and the botanical name, Ceropegia woodii) Soil (or sphagnum moss) Propagation - Simply cut section of vines that have nodes and gently place them on top of your propagation medium of choice. Mist them regularly so the soil never completely dries out until the roots develop. You can cover the pot to make a hot house to help promote humidity and root development, or you can do it in a propagation box like I show in the video. Water propagation - Cut sections of vines ( 5-6 inches long) and put the cut end into water. When a large mass of roots develop then it is time to transfer to a well draining soil mixture.
