Cook with me while I share my tips and tricks for crunchy roasted chickpeas, guaranteed!! Recipe is down below vvv This is the start of something new! I'm going to pivot (insert Ross yelling PIVOT) this channel into a lifestyle meets Disney & music and other things I'm passionate about, all intertwined into one. Something else I've been getting up to a lot is COOKING. I am compiling and perfecting recipes that I love and my favourite one has been crunchy roasted chickpeas. So I decided to take you along for the rather long process of making this delicious healthy recipe. THEY ARE TOTALLY WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT, I promise. As I'm changing things up, be sure to leave a request below for things you may want to see! Also don't hate on some of the blurry shots. Sometimes I swear that I'm in focus but I'm clearly NOT but that's also kinda because I need glasses BAD (I got my eye exam booked, don't you worry)...so ya just bear with me as I improve my video making skills 🙃. Disclaimer: I'm no chef or cooking expert. These are just the steps I've come up with based on a bunch of different recipes and instructions and LOTS of my own failed attempts. There are so many ways to do it but for me, this is how I get them perfect every time without fail... RECIPE: Ingredients: 1 can chickpeas (I used a 796ml can) 1 tbsp oil (veggie, canola, etc) 1/2 ish* tsp salt 1/2 ish* garlic powder Additional seasoning if desired (do what you wanna doooooo) *(ish is my own unit of measurement meaning probably no less but maybe more... u do u) Instructions: - Drain & rinse chickpeas - Set oven to 350 - Put chickpeas on sheet pan in preheating oven long enough to dry out (THIS IS KEY...) - In the mean time, pour 1 tbsp oil in bowl, add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 garlic powder and mix - Remove chickpeas after several minutes (when dry...usually the amount it takes for the oven to preheat... I would say 5-10 minutes to make sure they're really dry) - Cool slightly (2 ish mins) and add chickpeas to oil/seasoning bowl - Mix mix mix until evenly coated in oil and seasoning - Spread evenly on parchment lined pan - Put them in oven for 60-70 minutes, turning pan and shaking chickpeas every 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy. This is very dependant on your oven and how often you open it up (because heat escapes). Usually it's an hour for me but sometimes it's less. - When they’ve reached the desired done-ness (colour and texture-wise...), turn off oven and leave them in for an additional 15-20minutes while oven is cooling down. TIP: always keep an eye on them at the very end of cooking time to avoid burnt chickpeas - Add additional seasoning to taste ENJOY!
