ISPConfig allows you to manage websites, email accounts, DNS, and more from a simple yet powerful interface, making it an excellent alternative for those looking for a free and open-source solution. 👉What is ISPConfig? ISPConfig is a hosting control panel designed for managing multiple websites on different servers. About This Video

In this video, I show you exactly how to install ISPConfig on Ubuntu 22.04, step-by-step, on a fresh VPS with root access. Before jumping into the setup, I quickly log into the official ISPConfig demo so you can understand what you’re getting—client management, website management, email, DNS, monitoring, and tools. One thing I clearly point out is the big difference vs cPanel-style panels: ISPConfig gives you reseller functionality built-in (no extra plugin like WHM reseller), which is super useful if you’re managing multiple clients or running hosting. After that, I move to the real server setup: update/upgrade packages, set the correct hostname (I use server.technical.live), and add the required DNS records so things can propagate while the installation runs. Then I run the ISPConfig installer command from my article (I’ve shared the commands link), and I tell you upfront it can take around 10–30 minutes depending on your server and network. Once installation is done, I show you the most important part: saving the auto-generated credentials (ISPConfig admin password and MySQL root password). Then I log in via http(s)://your-server-ip:8080, create a client, log in as that client, and add a website to verify everything is working. Final takeaway: ISPConfig is powerful and flexible, but it doesn’t include an inbuilt file manager—so you’ll manage files via SSH or FTP.
