In this video, I share my long-term listening impressions of the DITA Audio Prelude, a single dynamic driver IEM from a Singaporean brand that sits around $160. This unit is from the Audio Geek Tour Group (I only paid import fees), but my thoughts are still my own. I go through the unboxing (ANTE dongle DAC/amp, two sets of tips, case, non-modular cable) and talk about why I still enjoy DITA’s “not too many frills yet enough thrills” presentation—both in packaging and product design. The Prelude’s red, rounded-and-angled shell looks eye-catching, but tip choice matters a lot for comfort and for how it sounds. Sound-wise, I describe the Prelude as lean, bright, and clinical, with sub-bass focus (rumble/texture) but not much mid-bass punch—so it’s not really for bassheads. With the stock jelly tips I got more shout/peaks; swapping to narrower tips (I like Final Audio Type E) helped smooth out some upper-mid and treble issues. Treble is forward with a bit of grit, which I personally enjoy on metal, and the perceived technicalities (detail, stage width, layering) are strong—though it can trade off some naturalness and sound a bit dry or odd in timbre on certain tracks. I also compare it to the Tanchjim Origin, DITA Awesome Truth, and iBasso Jr. Cookie Ti, then wrap with my ratings: C+ tonality, A- technicalities.
