Reviewing the OnePlus 15, one of the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship phones with new Hasselblad-free camera tech and proper gaming chops. But is the OnePlus 15 trapped in the OPPO Find X9 Pro's mighty shadow? I've been testing it for a week now (mostly in Mexico, as you do) so here's my verdict. Now, the Find X9 Pro is still my favourite of this pair, even if they’re identical in many ways. The OxygenOS experience is almost identical to ColorOS, while a lot of the same hardware is matching. However, the OnePlus 15 is more of a dedicated gaming smartphone. From the mega-RAM to the Snapdragon 8 Elite and 165Hz display, it’s a cracker for gamers, running titles like Call of Duty at a native 165 FPS. Where it falls down is the camera arrangement. That Hasselblad partnership has ended, so the OnePlus 15 sports in-house image processing, as well as lesser camera sensors vs the Find X9 Pro. So if you value the photography and videography performance, I’d say go for the OPPO. The OnePlus 15 seems a step back from the all-round excellent OnePlus 13 thanks to the camera downgrade, despite that upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and some excellent software as usual.
