Google Pixel 10a Review | What's New vs 9a, And Is It Good?

Reviewing Google's Pixel 10a, a fresh mid-range smartphone that's strikingly similar vs the Pixel 9a - so what's new, and is it better than other similarly priced phones? I've been testing the Pixel 10a for a couple of weeks now so here's my verdict on the camera tech, battery life, gaming experience and beyond! After a rather disappointing set of flagship devices, Google hasn't rocked the boat much at all for this 2026 A-series smartphone. You'll pay the same price as that 9a for the same camera setup, Tensor G4 chipset and battery capacity - plus that 128GB storage is back, to my chagrin. So what's been upgraded for the Pixel 10a vs the 9a? Well, the battery capacity may be the same but the recharging speeds have been boosted. That display is slightly brighter with stronger contrast now. And you do get some extra features, especially for the camera. Although given this is the same hardware as the 9a, why wouldn't Google bring those bits to the older phone? Overall, I would happily have my SIM inside the Pixel 10a full-time. However, the Pixel 9a will be cheaper and therefore better value, while other mid-range smartphones offer a stronger argument in the battery and gaming departments. If you want the best camera experience and a slick Android UI, the Pixel 10a doesn't disappoint.
