In this video I build what I’d call the “perfect” console streaming setup for a living room—something that lets me play on PS3, PS5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch while still running a clean stream with chat and alerts right in front of me. The whole point is simple: I want the console experience on the TV, but I also want streamer control like I’m at my desk. So I’m wiring it up in a way that keeps the gameplay smooth, the capture reliable, and the monitoring dead easy. I walk through the core signal flow: console into an HDMI switch so I can bounce between systems, then into a splitter so I can feed the TV and the capture card at the same time. For capture I’m using the Elgato 4K X, and then I add the “streamer stuff” that makes it actually usable—portable monitor for OBS/chat, a Stream Deck for quick actions, long HDMI/USB runs so everything reaches, and a couple camera options depending on budget. The takeaway is you don’t need a complicated rack setup—just the right few pieces so you can game on the couch and still stream like you mean it.
