CES 2026 just wrapped up, and I wanted to run you through the best, worst, and weirdest tech I saw on the show floor. Like every year, CES had an unofficial theme—and no surprise, it was AI. AI in TVs, phones, laptops, refrigerators, washing machines, even pillows and pet accessories. Some brands are actually building useful, meaningful AI features, but a lot of companies are clearly just slapping “AI” onto product names to stay relevant, and in my opinion, not all of it was helpful, innovative, or even real. The other big theme was robots—everything from familiar home bots (vacuums, mops, pool cleaners, lawn mowers) to humanoid and non-humanoid robots folding laundry, cleaning toilets, and even fighting in a boxing ring. Most of it still feels a ways away from mass adoption. On the practical side, Beatbot stood out with pool robotics that felt genuinely purpose-built: the AquaSense X plus the Astro Rinse self-cleaning station is aiming for true hands-off pool care, and the Sora 70 looked like a serious high-suction cleaner too. I also spent time with Samsung’s new Z Tri-Fold (a legit tablet-like foldable concept), their Galaxy Book 6 lineup, and the giant-TV arms race across Samsung, LG, Hisense, and more. XR/AR glasses are splitting into entertainment headsets vs everyday AI glasses, and car tech felt quieter this year—though robotaxis and personal mobility were still around. Overall, CES is still full of duds, but it’s also where you see what might become the next big thing.
