In this episode, I visited Toyota Santa Rosa Laguna to check out the all-new Toyota ATIV HEV—Toyota’s latest hybrid sedan and the one a lot of people are calling the Vios replacement. I walked through the variants (HEV, G, and E with the E also available in manual) plus the two-tone HEV color options with the black roof. Then I got into the numbers that matter: the self-charging hybrid system, total max output of 111 metric horsepower and 121 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT. I also did a full tour of the exterior and cabin details—from the LED headlamps and rear lamps, power-folding mirrors, and 16-inch Bridgestone tires, down to the key fob behavior (hazards flash twice and the mirrors unfold). Inside, I showed the leather-wrapped seats, the 10.1-inch display with a 6-speaker setup, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the 7-inch digital instrument cluster. For practicality, I checked rear space at my 5’7” driving position, pointed out the USB ports front and rear, wireless charger, and the cup holder layout. Finally, I covered Toyota Safety Sense (HEV-only) and pricing, with the ATIV HEV listed at PHP 1,280,000.
