In this video, I took a deep dive into the 2025 BYD Shark 6 DMO Advanced—BYD’s first electric pickup truck launched in the Philippines. From the start, my initial impressions were very positive because, outside, it still looks like a conventional pickup, but underneath it’s doing something totally different. I covered the variants (Advanced and Premium), color options (Deep Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, Aurora White), and the big headline specs—like the 1.5L turbo engine that acts as a generator, and how it can engage at higher speeds to directly power the front wheels. I also talked about why this truck feels “quick” despite being heavier than most pickups, with a 0–100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds and a combined maximum range of up to 800 km. We checked out the exterior lighting (that Ford C-clamp-style DRL vibe), the interior (black and dark orange looks sporty and premium), and the tech—like the 10.25-inch digital cluster, rotating 12.8-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 360° camera that genuinely boosts confidence in tight spaces. Bottom line: we honestly didn’t expect much from BYD at first, but the Shark 6 surprised us and absolutely deserves a spot on your pickup short list—especially with its ₱2,980,000 price, 6-year vehicle warranty, and 8-year battery warranty.
