About This Video

In this video, I took a closer look at the comeback of a legend: the all-new Toyota Tamaraw—specifically the Tamaraw Dropside GL (automatic) and the Tamaraw FX long wheelbase utility van (diesel manual). If you remember how the Tamaraw FX used to be everywhere as the go-to PUV for families and transport groups, you’ll appreciate how Toyota kept that utilitarian DNA but gave it a tougher, more modern feel for today’s roads. I also walked through the variants and color options, plus the customization possibilities if you want to build it for your business needs. We went under the hood too: both units run a 2.4L diesel making up to 150 hp, but torque is where they split—343 Nm for the utility van and 400 Nm for the Dropside GL, which matters if you’re hauling heavier loads or towing. I highlighted the key exterior and interior differences like the GL’s LED headlamps/DRLs, LED fog lamps, alloys, 7-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, power windows, and added safety (airbags, ABS, EBD). We also talked practicality (up to 12 seats on the utility van), the very basic tech, and the pricing: PHP 1,075,000 for the Dropside GL and PHP 1,142,000 for the utility van, with Toyota’s 5-year/140,000 km warranty.
