Plasti Dip® ended up being a pretty solid option for putting usable grips on bare, factory-second tools. It levels out decently, builds thickness with multiple dips, and once it cures it has a real rubber feel instead of just looking like paint. Just stir it, dip slow, and don’t get cute with a blower unless you want wrinkles.
