Stop sabotaging your personal and professional brand on LinkedIn with these painful mistakes! In this video, I’m calling out the top 13 cringe-worthy errors that make you look unprofessional, out of touch, or just plain lazy. From misspelled words (yes, “Manger” and "Pubic" are real words, but I doubt they are the words you want) to making your profile all about your company, these blunders can tank your credibility faster than you can hit "connect." We’ll dive into: * Misspelled words that ruin your credibility * Restating your role and company name in the headline (because we can’t figure it out already) * Using the About section like it’s your obituary (No one cares about your resume here!) * Over-vetting yourself and sounding like a corporate robot * Outdated info that screams you haven’t updated your profile in years * Keyword stuffing that’s more awkward than a bad pickup line * And so much more… If you’re ready to fix these mistakes and make your LinkedIn profile actually stand out for the *right* reasons, hit play. Don’t be that guy (or gal) whose profile looks like a corporate brochure. #businessnetworking #LinkedInProfile #BusinessMistakes #LinkedInTips #PersonalBranding #CareerTips #profileoptimization Here are my video talking points: 1. Misspelled words - Public vs Pubic, Manger vs Manger, Server - Sever, Principal vs Principle, Corporate vs Corrupt, Definite vs Defiant 2. Restating your Role and Company name in the Headline - Wasted use of valuable real estate 3. Using the About Section as your obituary, telling the viewer about your journey vs about what you do to create value for your target audience, aka the most important viewer 4. Using the Headline and/or About sections to vet yourself. Instead of vetting statements, tell relevant stories that demonstrate your abilities. 5. Not keeping your content up to date, as I did. Your Headline, About section, and Experience section must be in sync. 6. Using any field on your LinkedIn Profile to talk about the company you work for. Use these fields to tell your most important viewer what you do to serve them in your role working for (or running) the company. 7. Stuffing of keywords. Integrate these keywords into the stories rather than in bullet points or a big hunk/word salad. 8. Not using the About Section at all. 9. Forgetting that the first 3-4 lines of text in your About Section must be highly focused on your most important viewer, telling them how you serve them. Then you can expand on that in the following text. 10. Trying to be cute, coy, snarky, or using text that could be considered clickbait. Be real, be a human, and write as if you are speaking to your most important viewer. 11. Allowing your employer to write your content. They'll make it all about the company, and not about you. 12. Using the same banner image as every other employee in the company is using, or is told to use by marketing. 13. Using a profile image that is over 10 years old. Be proud of who you are.
