We build an off grid cabin in nature using wood that was harvested from my fallen ash tree. First we build the foundations of the cabin using milled ash posts for the frame. We raised the cabin foundations on large oak and ash logs. We then built the floor using sawn lumber for the joists and then adding in noggins to make it rigid and secure. The ash framework was secured with coach screws and the floor joists were secured with large nails. We then added moisture resistant floor boards and now we are ready for the studwork and timber framing! Cheers for watching and be sure to subscribe if you want to follow along on the series.
