Speras PZ14 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4s5cRkK Clip and Carry X-Grip Ti Tweezers: https://collabs.shop/felm51 @sperasflashlights1456 #flashlightreview #disappointed #edcflashlight This video is very long, as the light failed/broke while I was doing the review. So your seeing it happen as It's happening, and I investigate. This review is disheartening. I liked the flashlight, the beam pattern was nice, sharp in both narrow and wide stream. It's light, runs off a 2aa battery, and its a good looking flashlight at first. Early on, I noted that the zoom function was difficult to move, and sounded horrible, like sand stuck in the mechanism, as well as noted something loose near the LED circuit board. At first I thought it was a wire. I decided to remove the front section of the lens, which was on very tight, which made me dislocate my left index finger in 2 places. That was how much force and leverage was needed to open the front end of the light. It turns out the flaw in this flashlight, is the black reflector section is screwed in in the same orientation as the focusing system. So when you zoom to a focused beam, the inner section loosens, and allows the trim/mask around the LED to become loose and move around in the housing. That explains the negative comments on Amazon and other review sites about blurry, misaligned, and foggy lighting out put. In the end, the plastic trim/mask around the led has melted on the LED itself, making a not cheap flashlight, useless. It's a shame, I liked this light, the beam pattern was really nice and crisp, till it wasn't. I'm hoping Speras will look into this issue, and fix it, It is a really nice flashlight till you start to use the zoom/focus function. 00:00 Start 13:25 Dislocate my finger on camera (You have been warned) 15:43 Realign my finger off camera, but you'll here the crunch noise. About This Video

In this video I review the Speras PZ14, and it turned into one of those “you’re watching it happen in real time” situations. Going in, I actually liked a lot about this light: it’s lightweight, runs on a 2AA battery setup, and the beam pattern looked really nice—sharp in both the narrow (zoomed) and wide settings. But early on I noticed the zoom/focus was hard to move and sounded horrible, like there was sand in the mechanism. I also heard/felt something loose up near the LED area. To figure out what was going on, I tried to remove the front lens section—and it was on so tight I dislocated my left index finger on camera (yeah… that happened). Once I finally got it apart, the root problem made sense: the black reflector section is threaded in the same orientation as the focusing/zoom system. So when you zoom toward a focused beam, the inner section can loosen, which lets the trim/mask around the LED come loose and shift. That lines up with the complaints you’ll see about blurry, misaligned, or foggy output. Worst case, like mine, that plastic trim/mask ends up melting onto the LED, turning a not-cheap flashlight into a paperweight. My takeaway: Speras makes some great fixed-lens lights—stick to those until this zoom design gets corrected.
