I reviewed the Speras PZ14 because on paper it checks a lot of boxes: lightweight, 2AA power, and a beam that starts out crisp in both flood and focused modes. The issue is the zoom/focus design can loosen internal parts near the LED, leading to misalignment—and in my case the plastic trim/mask melted onto the LED and killed the light.

- -Zoom/focus action is stiff and sounds gritty
- -Internal components can loosen when zooming to focused beam
- -Can cause blurry/misaligned/foggy output
- -Plastic trim/mask can melt onto the LED, making the light unusable
