In this video I show you an easy kaleidoscope making project that you can do at home for a school science project. I explain what a kaleidoscope is—an optical instrument that creates beautiful colourful patterns using light reflection and symmetry. Inside a simple tube, mirrors are placed at a specific angle, and small coloured pieces are kept at one end. When I rotate the tube and look through it, the reflections repeat again and again and the design keeps changing every time. I also explain the working principle in a very exam-friendly way: multiple reflection of light and symmetry due to mirror angles. This is a perfect physics working model idea because you can clearly show how light enters, reflects between mirrors, and forms repeated symmetrical patterns. For materials, I keep it simple—glass, wrapping paper, masking tape, and paper cutting—so students can make it easily for school assignment, craft, and decoration. As always, I say: be creative, think innovative, and try making your own designs by changing the coloured pieces and rotating the tube.
