This reeling left hander is the wave that birthed the Maldives surf industry and is steeped in surfing legend. It's also the most exclusive wave in the Maldives too, and one of the most exclusive in the world, with only 30 lucky surfers allowed on the island at a time. This mean less crowds, more waves and epic vibes all around. In fact when I headed out at the start of the season there were only 4 other surfers there - including the legend that is Mitch Crews! The result was empty lineups & pumping waves, with some of the best surf sessions I've had in years, including numerous sessions with only me in the lineup, with as many left handers as I could paddle myself into.
