My new sofa FAILED after 1 day! | Can it be fixed?

We took the plunge and upgraded our old sofa with one of those fancy reclining ones from DFS. We waited 6 weeks for it and all was fine, for 1 day at least. Then one of the chairs stopped reclining. There were no signs of life at all. An engineer quickly came out and swapped over one of the motors, and it is now fully working. But why did it fail? I got hold of the old faulty motor and in this video I'm stripping it down to find out! Can it be fixed? Hope you enjoy! Steve PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all.
