Modern tiki cocktails have to be some of the most fun rum cocktails you can make at home. I get it — all those tropical flavours, that holiday-in-a-glass vibe. But a lot of them end up either far too sweet, or such a faff that you give up halfway through. So I went back to the drawing board and built a brand new rum cocktail that's properly balanced, dead easy, and genuinely worth the effort. Say hello to the Volcano Punch — a modern tiki rum cocktail built on a blend of rums, a trio of tropical flavours, and one sneaky French ingredient most people would never think to put in a tiki drink. There's a little overproof kick in there too, but this isn't about getting smashed — it's all about depth, balance and proper flavour.
