Making Large Silicone Moulds Shouldn’t Be This Easy… But It Works

Making large silicone moulds has always been time-consuming, expensive, and difficult to get right. In this video, a different approach is tested using brush-on silicone to see if it can handle something much larger than expected. There was genuine uncertainty going into this. Smaller moulds are one thing — but scaling this up introduces completely different problems, especially when it comes to flexibility and maintaining shape. Part way through, a major issue appears that could have ruined the result entirely. Instead of stopping, a simple support method is introduced to see if it can save the mould and still produce a usable casting.
