This is the mic I landed on after testing it against the usual creator picks, and I’d buy a second SD-1 before I’d buy an SM7B. It’s a one-and-done dynamic for most spoken-word creators, and when it’s on sale it’s an absolute no-brainer. Add the Hemisphere plugin if you want quick “finished” tones, but even stock it’s strong—just de-ess it.
