This week, the folks at Tamiya unveiled a surprise brand-new tooling of their 1/35 German 5cm Pak38 Anti-Tank gun at the IPMS USA Nationals convention in Hampton Roads, Virginia. While some folks in modeling circles have been a bit underwhelmed by this newest release from the Japanese model manufacturing giant, I think that this humble little artillery piece might be a big indicator of things to come from the company… including the possibility of a much-needed retooling of one of their iconic halftrack kits from the 70s.
