Trademarks: Shield or Sword? Current Issues of Legal Practice

The roundtable will address the issues of relevant court and administrative practices regarding disputes over acquisition, cessation and infringement of trademark rights both in Russia and abroad. Here the particular emphasis will be put on differentiation between scenarios involving responsible trademark holders and those whose activities can be viewed as unfair competition and abuse of rights. The discussion will consider special status of 'famous trade mark' institution and larger scope of rights related to it.
