The conference will consider the following issues: 1. Should government ensure the quality of legal education and is it capable of doing so, or should the system 'tune itself' according to its own capacities and needs of legal service consumers? 2. Does it make sense to 'install' Russian lawyers into the global context: develop curricula compatible to those abroad, include more courses on foreign law, establish academic exchange programs, participate in international competitions, or is there a need to focus on Russian law studies? 3. Do Russian law schools have a chance to significantly improve their international academic rating? Should Russian legal schools strive to achieve that altogether? 4. Do Master and postgraduate programs meet their goals within legal education framework? Is 'applied Bachelor program' worth it?
