A lot of this boils down to unrealistic expectations. New personal trainers expect the job to be one thing and it ends up being something very different. There’s more sales involved, your personality is hugely important, your personal training certification didn’t prepare you as well as it should have, etc. We dive into a ton of reasons as to why trainers quit. We also talk about whether or not we considered quitting early on and some of our answers might surprise you. All of this does end up being a discussion of the pros and cons of being a personal trainer. It’s one of those jobs that will be a great fit for many but certainly not everyone.
