In this video I’m inside Logic Pro X testing Safari Pedals plugins to answer the real question: are these pedal-style plugins a gimmick, or are they actually magic? I built a quick track using a bunch of Splice samples plus some of the newer Logic Pro samples, then started processing bass, keys, drums, and vocals using Safari’s suite. The big takeaway is these plugins are “pretty damn good” if you can find the value for your workflow—because they’re not just flashy GUIs, they can add real character fast. I walk you through the exact spots where each plugin made sense for me. Gorilla Drive gave my bass extra grit and let it cut through “those tiny iPhone speakers” with the blend knob. Time Machine added that old, vibey texture to the piano (I liked the 70s setting in the mix, but you can push it into 50s grit too). On drums, Owl Control was grabbing the beat hard and adding punch/width depending on the preset. Vocals were the fun part: Rhino Reverb added width, filtering, and color, and I stacked Dirty Dog after the verb to get a dry-but-distorted reverb vibe that made the vocal feel way less boring. I also used Yak Delay on a vocal chop with an AM radio preset for that “radio feel,” and I shout out Lion Master as a Swiss-army knife option for quick saturation, width, and tone shaping on the master.
