Logic Pro is officially coming to iPad, and Apple dropped it on their site along with Final Cut Pro. In this video I break down what we know so far, including the subscription pricing (4.99/month or 49/year) and why I’m a little on the fence about paying again when I already own Logic on my Mac. That said, the price isn’t crazy when you think about what it unlocks—an actual “music studio at your fingertips” that you can pull out anywhere. I talk through the features Apple is showing: touch-based navigation, plugin tiles with a clean GUI, and core tools like Chromaverb, Alchemy, Channel EQ, and compressors. For beatmaking, you’ve got Quick Sampler, Step Sequencer, Drum Machine Designer, and a drum sequencer built in—plus a Sound Library and what looks like predictive filtering (so yeah, some AI vibes in the backend). I also bring up real-world stuff like latency if you’re using Bluetooth headphones, and why I’m hyped about portability—making beats on a train, on a flight, or sampling outside with the built-in mic and bringing it into Alchemy or Drum Designer. It drops 5/23 with a one-month free trial, and I’ll be reviewing it as soon as I can get my hands on it.
