How We Get Running Water OFF THE GRID

Getting reliable water off-grid isn’t easy. When we first moved to our property, we had no power, no hookups, and just a 100-foot well with water we needed to figure out how to use. Over 5 years off-grid, we designed a DIY water system that kept us supplied year-round — from a buried cistern and 12v pumps to a fully functional off-grid washroom with hot water. Now that we live in our tiny home, we’re tied to the grid — but our remote location means power outages can last weeks. That’s why we designed our water system to work both on-grid and completely off-grid with the flip of a switch.
