Pruning can be used to keep the height of the plant down so it is sturdier in windy conditions, or if it is being grown in a small pot or indoors or a window-sill where you would like to keep the height down. It will also help to create “main stems” which in many situations will dee more peppers produced. But warning - it does feel all wrong chopping the poor things!
