This week I tackled built in floating shelves with magnetic frames. The materials used was 18mm birch plywood. These shelves were the perfect fit for the space and allows me to store more Lego. To attached the supports to the wall I used wall grub screws however if I was to redo the project I would use Wall mates. You could just have the shelves without the frames but I liked adding the frames to keep the dust off the Lego. The magnetics I used on the frame are 10mm by 2mm. I needed 6 at the top and 6 on the bottom I used frame strapping on the front of the shelves for the magnets to stick to. I don't love how they look but after painting them the same colour as the shelves they don't stand out so I was happy. This was a fun but challenging build and if you have any questions feel free to put them in the comments below and I will do my best to answer them. --------------------------------------------------------- Happy building and if you like to stay up to date with what I'm currently working on be sure to follow me on social.
