DIY | Floating Shelf with Timber and Resin using EASY Amazon Hardware | #rubbishwood21

This week I’m making a floating shelf using simple and easy floating shelf hardware from Amazon. My project is for the #rubbishwood21 challenge where we had to take timber that was heading for the bin and turning into something beautiful and functionally. I decided to take this piece and add some resin to it and turn it into 2 floating shelves. I resawed the timber in half at the table saw and after making a mould using melamine I could seal coat the timber and lay them in the mould. I used slow set resin from Just resin and the colour Blueberry. I had a lot of trouble with air bubbles but after two pours It started to look not so rubbish. Using Floating shelf pins frok Amazon as the hardware I could install the shelves on the wall. The shelf pins are easy to install but they do need to go into studs for them to work.
