Build a Security System with Home Assistant

This week, I cover how I used Home Assistant to build a monitored security system. Of course, I am the one doing the monitoring, but since I already had the sensors, and the platform for doing notifications I figured it was a no-brainer. There are a lot of different ways to leverage Home Assistant for security, but I wanted a system that was smart home-based. And I use smart home in this case as a system that just knows when it should arm and disarm without me having to do anything. So if you are looking for a different way to build a security system that didn’t involve just moving the alarm panel into your Lovelace UI stick around because we are about to automate some boring stuff.
