5 Ways to Automate the Boring Stuff

This week, we are taking a 30k foot view of 5 automations I use in my Smart Home to Automate the Boring Stuff. There isn't anything I would consider super cool. I mean there is not lights that following you around when you get up in the middle of the night, or a cool stair lighting effect, or even a cool Disneyland sign that tells you when you need to leave to catch your train. But some of these automations do take some of the effort away from the humans in the house, and Home Assistant just handles it for us. And while these are done in Home Assistant, you should be able to do something similar is most ofter smart home platforms. So while nothing super crazy, I hope they spark that cool idea for automation in your smart home.
