The HEDDphone D1 is HEDD’s first dynamic driver headphone, and I’ve been seriously impressed with how it blends smooth musicality with fast, analytical transient response. For $799, it brings huge stage, excellent mid-bass slam, and a treble that stays airy without getting harsh—plus it’s easy to drive but still scales with better amps.
Pros
+Smooth tuning with an analytical edge
+Fast, “planaresque” transient response without sounding unnatural
+Excellent mid-bass slam and good sustain
+Wide, natural soundstage that’s great for gaming
+Easy to drive (32 ohms / 100 dB) and scales with better amps
+Comfortable weight (~350g) with good pad comfort
Cons
-Sub-bass rolls off a bit compared to more sub-focused headphones
-Upper-treble detail/separation is a little less “pinpoint” than some competitors
-Velour can pick up dust/hair (they include cleaning tape, but still worth noting)
