The Sparkos SS2590 Pro (with the Dual DIP8 adapter) was my RCA-output op-amp choice and it’s seriously impressive—transparent, detailed, and just plain clean. Compared to the V7 Vivid, it’s in the same lane, with the Vivid maybe having a hair more edge, but we’re talking tiny differences.
Pros
- +Very transparent and highly detailed sound
- +Strong imaging and a clean, controlled low end
- +Excellent value compared to some alternatives (about $50 less than V7 in my pricing)
Cons
- -Requires the Dual DIP8 adapter to work in the J3 Pro
- -Differences versus other top options can be subtle unless you listen critically
