The Sony WH-1000XM6 is my jam—straight out of the box on Bluetooth, I don’t feel like I need EQ at all. You get a more balanced tuning with clearer treble, better midrange, and bass that hits without muddying everything, plus improved comfort and a more compact folding case.
Pros
+Sounds fantastic out of the box (no EQ needed for me)
+Better midrange timbre, clearer treble, and more open/airy presentation
+Improved comfort/seal with angled cups and firmer pads
+ANC is better than XM5 (not miles better, but noticeable)
+10-band EQ and newer Bluetooth features (LC3/LE Audio options)
Cons
-Price is higher (around $449)
-Analog wired mode sounds bad in my opinion
-Doesn’t fold flat the way I’d prefer when setting it down
