SECOND THOUGHTS! New Vanquish FIRST DRIVE - Rethinking My 12Cilindri

This is the new Aston Martin Vanquish, and we're finding out whether I've made the right choice! Going directly up against the Ferrari 12Cilindri, that is soon to join the Shmeemobiles, the new Vanquish packs quite the punch. Join me in Sardinia for a first drive in the new British Super-GT! The new Vanquish is undeniably one of the very best looking new cars on the market in any category; thanks to some incredible proportions with additional 80mm length added to the new chassis between front axle and a-pillars, and styling queues with a clear nod to the legendary One-77. Inside it boasts a completely reworked layout from the previous DBS 770, an optional full panoramic glass roof, with a strict 2 seat layout housing further luggage space behind. However, the big talking point is certainly the engine; a new 5.2l twin turbo V12 that makes a ridiculous 835hp and 1,000Nm of torque; creating a resulting super-GT with absolutely no lack of pace. While it's not the sharpest sound, with an 8spd ZF auto gearbox, it is undeniably brilliant in many ways. Shy of entering hypercar price territory, the complete list of V12 engined supercars now available on the market only consists of the Lamborghini Revuelto, Ferrari 12Cilindri and Aston Martin Vanquish - the latter two effectively going head to head in the same function and price category. While owning a number of Aston Martins and Ferraris in my personal collection, I have already ordered the entrant from Maranello, and today is the time to question that decision.
