I’ve literally lived the full MBA student circle: started as a day scholar (West Delhi to South Delhi), shifted to a hostel, then lived independently in a flat for multiple trimesters (and later with a roommate), and now I’m back home again. So this is coming straight from my almost 2 years of experience—goods, bads, and all the learnings I wish someone had told me earlier. Yes, the freedom is unmatched—your own schedule, networking after classes, college activities, decorating your space, and even spontaneous sleepovers and girls’ nights. But the “adulting” hits hard: cooking from scratch is way more exhausting than it sounds (and the dishes… oh god), budgeting gets real because every single thing costs money (wifi, electricity, groceries, even daily milk and bread), and staying productive is tough when nobody’s there to keep you in check. The worst part, no debate, is falling sick alone—so I’m also telling you to keep a proper first-aid/medicine box ready. If you’re scared to move out, take this as your sign: do it at least once, especially as a girl. It’s challenging, but it makes you grow up faster and teaches you life skills you’ll be grateful for later.
