In today's landscape on YouTube, storytelling can truly set a channel apart from its competitors. Unfortunately for me (and maybe you too) I happen to stink at executing compelling storytelling in my videos. I've watched lots of videos explaining and breaking down the structure but it just hasn't clicked. Recently attending a Seattle Creators event I watched a presentation by @ProducerDanNorton that made me realize how special it is when someone "gets it right". I loved listening to not only the how and why of decisions for a video from an editor perspective but also the explanation of how these choices enhance a story. Today I'm sharing Dan's presentation with you in the hopes it might help you too as I think it's a powerful and compelling message more people should see. I may suck at storytelling but this guy dosn't. He's so good that it made me care about the outcome of an entire journey about Pokemon cards and now I carry around a commemorative coin just to remind me to strive to tell better stories. I hope you enjoy. #shellysavestheday #SeaCreatorSummit
